Shake off the Winter blues: Try Trail Running in North Essex.

We recently had the pleasure of hosting Lindley Chambers & his wife, from Challenge Running Ltd staying at Golden Grove. They were here putting the finishing touches to a number of events to be hosting in the area at the end of December & 2018.

Trail running is one of the fastest growing areas of athletics, and this region of Essex, with it's trails, parks and easy access to major towns and cities, is a perfect venue for such events.

Lindley's company has two events planned for the beginning of the new year, both are marathons along Flitch Way, beginning in Great Notley Country Park, which is just a short distance from Golden Grove:

The New Year's Eve event is fully booked, although they are still looking for volunteers. There are, however, still spaces available for the News Year's Day event, so check their website for information on how to enrol.

Fitch Way 100k - January 28th 2018

At the end of January, Challenge Running Ltd. will also be hosting a timed event, the Fitch Way 100k. Which involves running 10 x 10k sections.

With everyone welcome to run as little or as much as they want, this event has the potential to be a gruelling challenge focused purely on establishing a personal best time, or an excellent introduction to extreme trail running. There are no medals or certificates, just the occasion to push yourself, against your own best time.

Visit Challenge Running's website here, for more information about their upcoming events. Or check out the site of the UK Trail Running Association.

If taking part in any of these events, why not make a break of it and bring your caravan or motorhome to stay at Golden Grove. What could be better after an extreme physical challenge than relaxing in the peace and quiet of our park in beautiful, rural Essex.
